On Christmas day, most people come together to exchange gifts and celebrate the birth of Jesus. However, there are lots of other people born on this day as well, and some of them are even still around today. Let’s take a look at some of the most famous Capricorns that make today’s birthday list.

  1. Stephenie Meyer (December 24, 1973) is probably most well-known for writing the wildly popular Twilight books, which quickly became a set of movies as well.
  2. Demaryius Thomas (December 25, 1987) is known for his role as a professional player in the NFL for the Denver Broncos.
  3. Shane MacGowan (December 25, 1957) is the lead singer in the punk band, of a Celtic nature, known as The Pogues. He also co-wrote the song, “Fairytale of New York”.
  4. Barbara Mandrell (December 25, 1948) has worn many hats including that of the cohost of Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters, which appeared on NBC, and she is also a Country Music Hall of Fame member.
  5. Rod Serling (December 25, 1924), who passed away in 1975, was both a television producer and a screenwriter, but is probably most well-known as the creator of the Twilight Zone (the original), of which he was also the host.
  6. Lee Daniels (December 24, 1959) not only created the show Empire for Fox, but also directed The Butler, which came out in 2013 and also Precious, which debuted in 2009.
  7. Diedrich Bader (December 24, 1966) appeared on The Drew Carey Show as Oswald and also made appearances on Office Space, The Beverly Hillbillies and Napoleon Dynamite.
  8. Rickey Henderson (December 25, 1958) was a professional baseball player in the MLB and held the record for most stolen bases, runs scored and unintentional walks.
  9. Annie Lennox (December 25, 1954) was a member of the well-known rock group, the Eurythmics, but went on to win three Grammy Awards of her own with a stunning solo music career.
  10. Ricky Martin (December 24, 1971) was not only a member of the popular pop band known as Menudo, he also stole charts with a song almost everyone knows as Livin’ la Vida Loca.
  11. Lemmy Kilmister (December 24, 1945) passed away in 2015, but he was the founder and front man for the band, Motorhead.
  12. Jimmy Buffett (December 25, 1946) is most well-known for his songs such as Cheeseburger in Paradise and Margaritaville. His fans are often referred to as Parrotheads and it’s not uncommon to find them tailgating before his concerts.
