This year happens to be the tenth anniversary of the birth of one of the top messaging apps in the world: WhatsApp. The popular Facebook-related app is now bigger than ever with a fan-base of 1.5 billion users. WhatsApp has managed, over the years, to beat some of the toughest and most well-known apps – such as Viber, WeChat and Skype – to become the no. 1 app at the moment!

This February marks the tenth anniversary of the WhatsApp platform and the developers of the app have decided to celebrate with the masses in a practical way – by unveiling new features – and also elaborating on how the business version of WhatsApp is going to grow in the upcoming years. With WhatsApp dominating the messaging field, the popular messenger is determined to provide the best services and keep its end-to-end encryption feature intact.

#1 Messaging App

Since the launch of WhatsApp, ten years ago, multiple features have changed and better messaging functions have been added so that the core aim of this messenger is enhanced as it grows. WhatsApp is all about making instant-messaging more easy and efficient; the users of WhatsApp Messenger have indeed been appreciating the simple functionality of the service with all of the features they need displayed on one screen. And with the launch of the end-to-end encryption, the platform became more secure and reliable for users to share personal and sensitive information.

Since the beginning, officials at the WhatsApp company stated that the app is not going to be a hotspot for adverts and initiating businesses. However, over the last two years, there has been a change of plans.

In January 2018, WhatsApp launched the very first version of “WhatsApp Business”, an independent app equipped with all of the vital tools and services needed to start and grow a business. Nevertheless, the Facebook company seems to have another vision for WhatsApp as it’s rumored that, after the business version, brands and products are going to be allowed to display their ads via WhatsApp, utilizing its relatively new stories feature – WhatsApp Status – which will indeed turn the platform into a huge money generator for the Facebook company.
